Five Weighbridge Losses an Intelligent Terminal Stops
Ask any plant security head about weighbridge losses and you will hear the same stories. They are small tricks, repeated across thousands of trucks a year, and they add up. 1. Extra weight during tare A helper stays in the cab, or someone stands on the platform while the empty truck is weighed. The tare looks heavier, so the net load looks lighter. Position sensors and camera snapshots at the moment of weighing make this easy to spot. 2. Partial weighing One axle sits just off the platform. Sensors at both ends stop the terminal from accepting a weight until the vehicle is fully on the scale. 3. Edited figures When an operator types the weight, the weight can be changed. A terminal that reads the indicator directly leaves no field to edit. 4. Re-used or swapped slips Each slip carries a unique number, the vehicle identity and a time stamp, and it is linked to a photo. An old slip simply does not match. 5. Vehicle swapping A different truck comes back for the second weighing....
